I wish you a merry Christmas, and a healthy new year!!!

Hello and greetings!!

Christmas is 3 days away have so much to do and so little time to do it in... I have piles of presents in my bedroom that still need to be wrapped. My house desperately needs to be cleaned... Chris, the kids and I are hosting a prime rib feast this year. There is still a lot to do, it will get done, have no fear. I overshot my goals this year as far as gift giving and making homemade treats! I really thought that it would be easy, and therefore cheaper and easier than shopping. Not to mention, more thoughtful.

I made peppermint cocoa mix, Turkish delight, chocolate covered pretzels rods, fudge, chocolate chip cookies, decorated sugar cookies, and Scrabble, Chris' grandfathers chexmix variation.( all from scratch and made by yours truly with help from Chris, his kids and my son, too, thanks guys!!)
I then packaged them up into bags and tins and baskets and delivered them to my sons teachers, my bosses, the daycare teachers, family. As much as it wore me out. I got more sense of warmth in sharing these goodies, than I did if I had spent $1000 on gifts!!

I have truly been refilled of holiday spirit. Not to mention Chris and I budgeted extra money so we could give our children a nice holiday. That has been achieved 25 times over!

I think sometime in my 20's I switched from loving receiving to loving giving, and each passing year makes me that much more sentimental about what the holiday symbolizes and what it means to me. With my son, and seeing him react the way I did when I was his age. Having Chris to share it with and his kids.. It really is a miracle!!!

I want to take a moment to share my thoughts with all of you at this wonderful time of year.. That you have family or friends to spend it with, and that the spirit touches you even if it is in a small way. And my best wishes to you for the year ahead, may it be all you want it to be.
