Life is good, for the most part. I am slowly adjusting to the change of pace and style of living in this rural area as opposed to living conditions I had in the past, in Colorado, and Connecticut.
I have noticed a few things that I am not sure exist elsewhere...
There are a large concentration of Churches in the area, literally one every one or two blocks, most are Church of Christ or Baptist, but there are others, Lutheran, Methodist, and there even some non-denominational churches.
We have not started going to one yet, but will soon, there sure are plenty to choose from!!

There are also more pharmacies than gas stations, seriously...there is a CVS or a Walgreens on nearly every 3rd block and most of them are on opposite corners from each other. It's crazy...now speaking of grocery stores, so far, I have only found two nearby, a Homeland and a Wal-mart Market, not a super center, they only sell groceries. It's like the old school Wal-Mart.

So it's just something to get used to, it wasn't like that back in Colorado.
I am not complaining...so don't misread me, it's only an observation of the culture changes.

Things are going well. I am adjusting to being home full time and it's nice, I am fighting the urge to be a slug 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
I have to remind myself to shower and to change clothes, I can just wear the same stuff to bed that I wore that day, and no one would care...but I do, so I make sure to retain some idea of normalcy when it comes to my life.
Owen and I hang out and play and watch a bit of TV. Some of his favorite shows are Handy Manny, Higglytown Heroes, and Peep. Peep is a great show, it is narrated but Joan Cusak and I tell you what, I enjoy it as much as I enjoy Heroes or CSI.. crazy!! We take walks, there is a nice park nearby, and soon we may start taking Dash out too.
We also find time to play, he really likes this game we call 'empty the toy box'..there isn't much playing, we take all the toys out one by one and talk about them, see what they do and then we put them back. He loves it!! I think it gives him a sense of accomplishment, since he does most of the putting away. He really loves that kind of thing, he wants to put his diapers in the garbage, & take his dirty clothes to the laundry room, he really strives to 'help' and I love it. Donovan used to be that way, now? not so much.

I have a few more things to do to prepare for the upcoming arrival of Ms Julianna, we are debating on whether or not to move Owen into Donovan's room ( we are still trying to get Chris's kids out here, but it is turning out to be very difficult, his ex won't even let Chris have them here for Thanksgiving, I just wish someone would tell her it is not her decision to make).
We got Owen a toddler bed a while back, but I am not sure he is ready for that, he may need to safety of a crib for a few more months, and we are not sure if a big boy bed is the way to go, especially with a newborn in the house. I still have a little while, but I have made my self a promise that I will not subject myself to unneeded stress from now on, if it's not done by the time I go into labor, we will just go with the flow. I much prefer my life with a lower stress level.

Chris is doing okay, he has had some difficulty adjusting, too, but I think his is for the most part accomplished, he loves his job, he loves the house, and he of course loves living in OK. He does however miss Katie and Connor, they are difficult to get a hold of via phone, so he tries when he can, but he doesn't get to talk to them often.
I keep reminding him that the more he remains present for them, the stronger his relationship will be, and he does his best, given how difficult Lisa makes everything, his best is all he can do.

Today OU has another game, I am planning on making cookies and 7 layer dip to munch on, kick off is in 30 minutes, so I best get started.

Until the next time....
