I can not fathom the arrival of Spring. Yet here we are, deep into Spring in Oklahoma. We have had near torrential rains, fires that got close to our town, and I am sure there will be a tornado for us to worry about before its all over. I can't imagine what Summer will bring.
AHHH the joys of southern living. Donovan made a comment just the other day that if he had a wish, he would wish for no more natural disasters. The poor thing just hates them, and who can blame him.
We had a great Easter, we colored eggs Saturday night..
Owen LOVED that part. He was absolutely amazed to see the white egg change color..here is a photo that Chris snapped with his reaction.
Julianna took part too, she sat on my lap and we let her hold her very first Easter egg..
Donovan had the most fun, I think, he is super creative and he really enjoyed just being able to sit with the family and do something together. There are many times where we just have so much going on, that sitting down for an activity can be rare.
The Easter Bunny usually hides the eggs for us, but he didn't this year ( actually I overslept..) so Donovan was a bit surprised to see me hiding the eggs when he got up..I told him the bunny had forgotten.. he volunteered to hang out in his room until I was done. Looking for eggs on Easter morning is a tradition we have had since Donovan's early holidays.
So the boys hunted for eggs, and had Easter candy and chocolate for breakfast and we all went to church.
I baked a spiral Ham and made some potato salad and deviled eggs and we had anice quiet Easter feast.
It was a quiet and relaxing day, one that we have needed for sometime.
This coming weekend is the Baptism of Julianna. My family, parents and sister are coming into to town, as are Chris's immediate family. We have asked his best friend Chong to be a sponsor and his sister Misty as well.
So we will have a very full house this weekend.
My sister will be holding a Heritage Maker workshop for me and I am super excited.
I am currently working on a poster of the boys, and a book about my 5 kids.
If I had more time, I would try to do more, but as it is..well, I have plenty to do.
Anyway, I just wanted to get a quick post in before I head back to the daily grind, until the next time....

About Me
- Heidi
- I was raised in Colorado, but born in Kansas, so I guess that makes me a Kansas native. But home is where the heart is, right? I am a stay at home mom, wife and free spirit. I have an amazing husband who lights up my life with his mere presence in it. I have two amazing sons Donovan, who is 10 years old and Owen who is 3 years old. I am also mommy to a daughter named Julianna Alyse who was born in January 2009. I also have two wonderful step children, Katie who is 15 and Connor who is 11. I have weathered many storms, an eating disorder, and divorce, not to mention life itself and here I am stronger for it!!I love movies, games, (not the head type, thank you) and spending time with my kids, my husband, and my family.
