My son is the most entertaining fellow on the planet. He has this habit,.... no that's not the right word, ....this knack, ....no that's not right either.
He has a way, I have no word to describe it, of announcing everything in his life to whoever happens to be listening.
For example, last evening, we went grocery shopping. We were just strolling along, doing some shopping and then....
A kind little old lady was walking by and said hello-- " I HAVE HOT DOGS AND I GET TO GO TO BURGER KING FOR DINNER!!" She smiled her gingerly little old lady smile and said to me, "Oh, he's a keeper!" I smiled back, "Yes, I said, I think I will keep him around"

Once we were done at the store, he did it again, as we went through the drive through, (only not at Burger King, we chose KFC instead)
As we pull up to the window to pay, this voice from the back seat announces " I HAVE A HOT WHEELS HAT!!"... out of the clear blue sky!!!

I hadn't really picked up on it until yesterday, he did it that morning too, a little variant of the "ANNOUNCEMENT" , I called Chris on the phone and since we had just finished at the bank, he announces " TELL WHOEVER IS ON THE PHONE, I GOT A BLUE LOLLIPOP!!!"

He has a way of delivering bits about his life in ways that just make me laugh so hard, that I cry. I was trying my best to tell Chris about this last night on the phone, that I was crying and I think Chris was about in tears too, it WAS JUST SO FUNNY!!!

Donovan did it today at school too!!! We got there to drop him off and he walks into the room and sure enough..."I HAVE A REAL GREEN SHIRT FROM IRELAND!!!!"( today was his classes ST. Patty's day party).
I think his teacher must be used to it, or she is/was as oblivious to this act as I am/was, as she had no reaction whatsoever. But now that I am aware of it, it dawned on me that it happens ALL THE TIME!!!
And you know what??, its not just my son.....
I nanny and take care of Simon, age 4 as well. We went today to drop something off at my insurance agents office and she said to him, "Hi Simon, how are you?" his response???
"I HAVE A NEW BIONICLE SHIRT AND NEW SHOES WITH GLOW IN THE DARK EYES!!!"

Can I just say that I think I have to best time in my life when I am around children who can make me laugh so hard that I cry or almost pee my pants, OR BOTH and its just them being themselves!!!
Who needs Chris Rock when you have a 4 or 5 year old who isn't afraid to tell you ANYTHING!!!! Everything in their lives is important enough to make it into an announcement!!

They don't even realize that what they do is so cute, that it's funny, but it is a rare form of humor that, well, it's amazing!!
Mind you, I do like some vulgar adult based humor once in a while, but for now, give me my son, or any 4 or 5 year old and that is all the humor I need, pure unadulterated CHILD humor!!!
It's better than, well... it is just so GOOD.
