Here is my growing belly at 24 weeks
...It amazes me, still, how much bigger I am this time around.. I have over three months to go and my belly seems to me to be huge.. and I get that from a lot of people around me too.
I joke that the next time someone tells me how huge I am, I will sock them in the nose.
Nothing like pointing out the obvious.
That and people who come over and touch me without asking if its okay. Like my belly is public domain.
I found a shirt online that says DO NOT TOUCH THE BELLY, but I can't fathom paying a pretty penny for a shirt that says what I should say to people on my own. I have no qualms about telling anyone to not touch my belly.
You don't see anyone rubbing the belly of overweight men..It makes no sense to me.
Owen is growing steadily, and is very active, we can see his kicks and punches visibly from outside the womb.. Which in and of itself is a miracle.
Other things in our lives are still plugging a long. I am working part time on the Santa set in the local mall, it's good for extra cash to spend on the family for Christmas. Not to mention it is a fun way to fill my time.
We had Chris's hearing on Dec 6th, but have yet to hear the final ruling...we hope to hear that before months end. We both feel good about it, as do his attorneys. So pray that the judge is as fair as we think she is and that things are finally going to settle down for all of us. The kids have really come around and much more willing to accept the fact that they have two homes now.
The kids are all out of school two days early since we just got buried in 2 feet of snow..so they are all out until January 9th. The total at our house was really about 28.5 inches, and this is what was visible of my car as of 1:00 a.m. Chris went out to shovel and only an hour later were we able to see the car and the driveway it sits in.
Chris and I are going to Oklahoma around the 1st of the month, and will pick up his kids out there, since they will be out there with Lisa as of Christmas day.
Donovan's dad wants him to come visit for Christmas, and I agreed to send him there, as long as he and I had a new parenting plan in place stating when Donovan was going out to see his dad, since he chose to move to Illinois in September.
There have been some complications...Dirk wants more time, I don't agree to more than 2-3 weeks a year until Donovan is a bit older, and no new arrangements have been filed. So Dirk's parents have purchased an airline ticket for a flight on this upcoming Saturday, but until we have a new plan in place, there will be no travel.
Given Dirk's history with reliability, I worry about Donovan's safety in returning back to Colorado, and I feel it would be safer for him, to have a court backed plan to ensure his safe return.
I guess we will see what happens, we have one more day in this week to hear from the attorney that Dirk's parents hired...
Other than that, Chris is done teaching again, and it is nice to have him home during the weeknights he was gone previously, though we will miss the extra money, time is sometimes much more valuable.
I wish you all a Happy Holiday, a blessed Christmas, and Prosperous 2007...Thanks for checking in.

About Me
- Heidi
- I was raised in Colorado, but born in Kansas, so I guess that makes me a Kansas native. But home is where the heart is, right? I am a stay at home mom, wife and free spirit. I have an amazing husband who lights up my life with his mere presence in it. I have two amazing sons Donovan, who is 10 years old and Owen who is 3 years old. I am also mommy to a daughter named Julianna Alyse who was born in January 2009. I also have two wonderful step children, Katie who is 15 and Connor who is 11. I have weathered many storms, an eating disorder, and divorce, not to mention life itself and here I am stronger for it!!I love movies, games, (not the head type, thank you) and spending time with my kids, my husband, and my family.
