He is now 7..

Donovan, my amazing son...is now 7.

We held his Pirate Birthday Party here at our house Saturday. His dad ( my ex-husband) was here as was his Godfather, my ex husbands longtime friend and his second wife.
I think it was a success, surreal as it is to have my husband and ex husband in the same room, but I am glad that we have gotten to the point where we can co exist in peace this way.
I know that something like this would never happen with Chris and his ex wife. I doubt Chris will ever be included in her celebrations of their kids birthdays. I am glad we have our own celebrations for them, in this case, it is much easier and less stressful on all involved.

We have been celebrating Donovan's birthday all week, starting Saturday. He got a lot of money for his birthday, which by now has burnt a huge hole in his little pockets..So I took him today and he chose to buy a new game for our XBOX 360.. the new TMNT game.. he is so good already, and is so good at only playing 30 minutes at a time.. a true testament to his ability to learn discipline.

We have gone out to eat a few times. Once to California Pizza Kitchen, where Donovan can eat his weight in the chopped salad, and then top it off with a kids pepperoni pizza. Then we went to Great Scotts Eatery, a local diner-like place that he can have a 'breakfast' dinner, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with crumbled Heath, and we have sung Happy Birthday about a dozen times.

He got a boatload of gifts, from Magic Rocks, to a Spiderman version of the game Operation, complete with a "Costume Wedgie"...hahahaha..

It has been a super week, Donovan was on Spring Break, and I know in my last post, I had mentioned that we would have a baby by now, but it didn't happen.
My Dr. advises against induction before 39 weeks, even though Owen was measuring around 7 lbs 11 ounces, more than healthy enough.. they said they could induce the 3rd...I decided against it, I am slowly making progress, 60% effaced and just close to 2 cm dilated as of Weds.. so Owen is coming, he just has his own timeline, and I will let him go until his real due date..contractions or not. And if he is not here by then, then we will help him along.

Until then, we are just dealing with my contractions, my PUPPP rash, and the waiting.

The best part of the whole week for both me and Donovan was having an abundance of one on one time with my son, to let him know that even though there is a baby on the way, I still love him more than anything, and he will always be my little boy.

Happy 7th Birthday Donovan!! I love you!!!
